You will receive a pre-printed renewal application from the state board of nursing 2-3 month prior to the expiration of your CNA license. You will also need to show proof of being employed a minimum of 8 hours in the last two years as a CNA.
Failure to do so will result in you needing to retake the state nursing aide exam.
Your license is valid for two years from the date your last license was issued. As a Nurse Aide you will be allowed to renew up to 60 days before license expiration.
There is no fee for renewing your Minnesota CNA license. You will however need to pay to retake the CNA entrance test if you have become inactive on the state registry.
