LPN Programs in Virginia

Virginia LPN Training

Virginia LPN training is a specialized education option designed to prepare individuals for a career as a licensed practical nurse. In hospitals, nursing homes, and mental health facilities, doctors and other medical professionals depend on the services of licensed practical nurses. While doctors make many of the decisions about treatment, licensed practical nurses are responsible for making patients feel comfortable.

LPN training is especially appealing in today’s economy because it provides a specialized skill set in a relatively short amount of time.

Becoming an LPN in Virginia

An individual can become an LPN in Virginia by examination or endorsement. In order to be eligible for licensure by examination, a potential nurse must have completed a PN state-approved education program that provided at least the minimum of 400 hours of supervised direct client care. Once this is completed, a graduate is eligible to take the NCLEX exam.

An individual is eligible for licensure by endorsement if he or she graduated from an approved nursing education program in another state and was already licensed by examination, or if he or she is scheduled to take the NCLEX in another state.
