Licensure for Vocational Nursing course is designed to teach students, a more extensive and in-depth knowledge and skills necessary for a student to be able to perform various duties as medication, treatments, and other procedures nurses caring for patients in a Long term facility or Acute care hospital.
Upon completion 1,564 hours hours of theory and clinical training, the student will be evaluated by the school on their competency to be eligible for graduation and to qualify for licensing examination
Licensure is awarded by the State through the Bureau of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technician (BVNPT) after passing the Competency Examination (NCLEX).
Licensed Vocational Nursing is divided into theory class (604 hours of lecture class) and clinical and/or skills laboratory training (960 hours of practical experience), totalling to 1,564 hours for a year and a half. Theory class is divided into segments that include the following:
