BSCTC offers a two-year program leading to the associate in Applied Science Degree.
The associate degree Nursing curriculum prepares graduates to provide and manage client care and to become members within the discipline of Nursing.
The Nursing Program is offered on the Prestonsburg Campus of BSCTC. Clinical learning experiences are held in health care delivery facilities throughout the region including Pike, Floyd, and Johnson counties. Transportation to the community agencies is the responsibility of each student.
BSCTC offers a one year program leading to a diploma in Practical Nursing following successful completion of the program. The Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) will then determine the graduate’s eligibility to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and practice in the state of Kentucky under the supervision of a registered nurse, physician or dentist. A separate admission process must be completed in order to be considered for the practical nursing program.
