The Licensed Practical Nursing Program is a one-year, full-time adult program, which prepares graduates to provide care in non-critical patient care settings. In critical care settings, the LPN becomes an assistant to the physician and/or registered nurse. Graduates are eligible for licensure by computerized examination (NCLEX-PN). Reciprocity (endorsement) is available by written application to other nursing boards.
The course of study includes experience in a variety of settings. These experiences include hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, mental health settings, clinics, and physicians' offices.
Program charges include the following: tuition, books, lab, and exam fees. Uniforms, living expenses, transportation, and graduation fees are the student's responsibility.
This program offers great career opportunities in the nursing profession with the potential for educational growth and self- fulfillment.
Nursing education is an ongoing process for all practitioners, and adherence to professional standards is an integral portion of that education.
