BSN Program Details

The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program at Central Wyoming College is designed to prepare graduates for careers as entry level registered nurses (RN) in a variety of healthcare settings. Upon successful completion, the graduate receives an associate of applied science degree with a major in nursing and is eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX®), which is required for practice as a registered nurse.

The purpose of the program is to prepare students to function as providers of care, managers of care, and members within the discipline of nursing. The program further assists students in the utilization of the nursing process and a self-care model to guide nursing care of individuals, families, and groups.

The program begins in the fall semester of each year, and, once admitted, is a two-year (four-semester) program of study. The curriculum provides students the opportunity to develop nursing knowledge and skills through classroom instruction, practice skills laboratories, and clinical experiences. The program also utilizes standardized pre and post assessments to increase pass scores and lower program attrition rates.
