The Nursing Program at Chemeketa Community College prepares students to graduate with an Associate of Science Degree and sit for the NCLEX-RN (National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses); successfully passing this exam allows the graduate to become a licensed registered nurse. The Nursing Program is approved by the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Committee (NLNAC).
The Nursing Program provides a "career ladder" format that also qualifies students, after the first year, to test and become licensed practical nurses. The program encourages graduates to continue their educational journey and earn a bachelor's and/or master's degree in nursing. Chemeketa Community College maintains partnerships with several colleges of higher learning, including Linfield College, University of Wisconsin, and Oregon Health Science University (OHSU).
