Childress Regional Medical Center School of Vocational Nursing was established in 1998 by the late Katherine R. Lindley. The school is approved by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners and begins in September of each year with graduation the following August. Each year a maximum of 20 students are selected to enroll in the program and each graduate is eligible to take the State board examination for licensure as a Vocational Nurse. Since its inception, the School of Vocational Nursing has graduated 10 classes for a total of 89 nurses. 7 of the 10 graduating classes boast a 100% pass rate on the State boards with an overall average of 93.4% pass rate for the last 10 years.
