Begin your nursing education in the AAS program. This degree program is open to high school graduates, individuals with other degrees, and persons pursuing second careers. During your studies, you will receive supervised experiences in a variety of clinical settings. You will have the opportunity to practice nursing skills in state-of-the-art nursing laboratories, including a High Fidelity Simulation Center. Upon graduation, you will be eligible to take the national exam leading to licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse. After passing the licensure exam, you will be on the road to an exciting career. Job opportunities for newly licensed Registered Professional Nurses are found in hospitals, ambulatory care centers, skilled nursing facilities, nursing homes, and home care settings.
As an RN with a baccalaureate degree in nursing, you can enter our unique program that prepares advanced practice nurses for the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse Practitioner (CNS/NP) roles. The program emphasizes cultural competency in the care of diverse populations. You will explore theoretical foundations of nursing science, study advanced pathophysiology, examine health policy, and study advanced clinical concepts associated with the care of adults or older persons in the specialty of your choice. Further develop your clinical expertise while engaging in evidence-based practice through research. Explore your future role as educator, leader, and consultant. You may choose to study full- or part-time. Full-time students may be eligible for grant-funded assistance. Graduates of the MS in Adult Health Nursing or Gerontological Nursing will be prepared to contribute to the profession and their clients’ welfare by distinguishing themselves in evidenced-based practice, leadership, education, and as a consultant in their chosen specialty.
As a licensed Registered Professional Nurse, you will continue your professional education in our Bachelor of Science program. This degree program is open to RNs who have completed an associate degree or diploma program. You will broaden your studies in the liberal arts and sciences. You can choose to study full- or part-time as you focus your nursing education on health promotion, community health, critical care, leadership, and research. BS graduates are prepared for leadership, management, and more independent nursing roles, thereby expanding their career opportunities.
