ADN Program Details

Cuesta College has a successful and well-respected Associate in Science Degree Program for Nursing. The curriculum is based on caring. A variety of clinical settings and diverse faculty give students a well-rounded education. Students in the program participate in community based internships and preceptorships. Students are given the tools to become successful members of a healthcare team and are encouraged to continue their education after graduation.

Class selection is determined using the multi-criteria screening process established by the California Community College Chancellor's Office. A multi-criteria score is determined for each candidate based on previous degrees / relevant certificates, prerequisite coursework GPA, science/English repeats, work/volunteer experience in healthcare, life/special circumstances, language proficiency, and an assessment test score. Program admission will be offered to highest scoring eligible applicants. If there is a tie among applicants, a computer random selection will break the tie and finalize the ranking of applicants. Applicants who are not admitted to the program will need to reapply during the next application period; there is no wait list for the RN program.

LPN Program Details

The Cuesta College Licensed Vocational Nursing Program received full accreditation on April 12th, 2007 by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.

The program prepares students for entry-level vocational nursing positions in a variety of healthcare settings. Upon completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the National Vocational Nursing Licensure examination (NCLEX-VN).

The Licensed Vocational Nursing classes are offered on the Cuesta College North County campus, located in Paso Robles. The program is one year in length, with classes beginning at the end of May. Clinical rotations are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays, with theory and skills classes taught Tuesday through Thursday.
