For students transferring in general education courses from other accredited institutions, this option consists of six quarters of nursing courses with both didactic and clinical components built on these foundational courses. Graduates are prepared to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN®) and are awarded an Associate Degree in Nursing. The full-time completion program takes one year and six months.
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing - RN to BSN option provides general education and nursing courses to meet the needs of the registered nurse who desires to continue education in nursing at the Bachelor degree level. This option has a blended/hybrid online and face-to-face instruction design. The time to completion varies depending on the courses needed to complete the general education and nursing requirements. Graduates are awarded a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree.
Students entering the RN to BSN option build on their basic nursing knowledge as they acquire the general education that provides a foundation and breadth of skills knowledge, skills and attitudes every School educated individual should possess. This broad perspective is especially important in the field of nursing when dealing with the diverse cultures and humans with health related problems.
The BSN Degree Program is designed to prepare graduates for nursing practice in the 21st Century. Following successful completion of the BSN curriculum, graduates apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN®). Graduates are awarded a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. This program is three years and three months in length for full-time students.
Applicants to the BSN Completion Option are often professionals in other disciplines who elect to make a career change after completing a BA, BS or Associates Degree. Other applicants are inspired to pursue a nursing career by building on the competencies gained in post secondary courses.
