Classes are conducted on campus with clinical experiences taking place in participating care facilities. Students use an on-campus simulation laboratory to practice beginning, intermediate and advanced clinical nursing skills. After skills are mastered in the laboratory, the student nurse enjoys clinical experiences in participating health care agencies under the guidance of a clinical nursing faculty member.
Successful completion of the program leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing with an eligibility to take the licensing exam to become a Registered Nurse (RN).
The Division of Nursing and Allied Health allows a Licensed Practical Nurse to challenge the first semester nursing course and thereby gain advanced standing in the RN program.
