With cohort groups in Johnson City, Kingsport, Sevierville, Knoxville and Cleveland, TN beginning each Fall, our online RN-BSN program is designed to provide pathways to students holding the associate degree or the hospital certificate. The program is available full-time, which is 3 semesters of nursing courses, and part-time, which is 5 semesters of nursing courses. Both options are user-friendly and designed for working adults with many opportunities for professional growth. Although the program is online, two courses do require limited meetings in their cohort locations.
Our traditional BSN program consists of five semesters of major courses after you have completed university core requirements. You can become a BSN major by enrolling at ETSU as a pre-nursing major, changing majors, or transferring to ETSU from another college or university. The BSN degree is awarded after successful completion of all nursing course work qualifying you to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).
The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree program prepares nurses for advanced practice and entry into specialization. Offered with both convenient part-time and full-time options, the MSN specialized degree programs take place on campus in Johnson City for the NP specialties and as a hybrid online program for the Administration specialty. Students who successfully complete the program are qualified to take a national certification examination.
Our accelerated BSN program is available to students holding bachelor's degrees from regionally accredited schools in fields other than nursing. It consists of five semesters of major courses beginning with the summer semester and continuing through Fall semester of the following year. Certain prerequisite courses apply prior to starting the nursing courses. The BSN degree is awarded after successful completion of all nursing course work qualifying you to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). Students holding bachelor's degrees are also eligible for the traditional program.
The Doctor of Nursing Practice degree program will prepare leaders in nursing and healthcare who can affect change, apply informatics and data management skills, translate research into evidence-based practice, influence health and social policy for diverse populations, and shape positive health system outcomes.
