ADN Program Details

Registered Nurses perform patient assessments; develop, implement, and evaluate client-care plans; and provide supervision and guidance to LPNs and allied health care technicians. RNs promote health, prevent disease, and help clients cope with illness. They provide care, treatment, and health education to clients and the community. They advocate for clients, families, and communities.

Requirements for acceptance into the Associate Degree Nursing Program:

Currently Licensed as a Practical Nurse
Application to the Associate Degree Nursing Program
Grade Point average of 2.8 or higher
HESI examination – or the LPN, the Department will use the exam to consider entry into the ADN program. Applicants must pass the HESI examination

LPN Program Details

LPN’S care for the sick, injured, convalescent, and disabled under the direction of a physician or registered nurse. They care for infants, children, pregnant women, adults, or the elderly.

Basic bedside care, vital signs, preparing and administration of medications and treatments like dressing changes. They assist with data collection, nursing interventions, development of client care plans and simple diagnostic tests. The provide emotional support for client and their families.

Hospitals, long term care facilities, outpatient and clinic settings, home health agencies and various community agencies employ successful graduates of the program. Salaries vary depending on setting and geographical area.

Requirements for acceptance into the LPN program:

Nursing Application to the LPN program
Grade Point average of 2.8 or higher

Required courses prior to acceptance:

Math MTH 103 Pre algebra
Chemisty CHM 099 (if you have no Chemistry Experience)
Chemisty CHM 101 (if you have Chemistry experience)

Courses that may be taken the first semester prior to nursing courses:

English, ENG 101 English Composition or ENG 105 Technical English
