The Associate Degree in Nursing program is an intensive, two-year academic program, which includes classroom, skills laboratory and clinical experience in various healthcare agencies. The student is awarded an Associate in Applied Science degree upon completion of the program and may apply to write the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Upon successful completion of the NCLEX-RN, the graduate may apply for Illinois RN licensure. Completion of the ADN program does not guarantee RN licensure. There are some conditions for which the Department of Professional Regulation may refuse to issue a license. Please consult with the Director of ADN program to avoid license application hindrances. The Practical Nursing program is a three, consecutive semester program, which includes classroom, skills laboratory, and clinical experience in various healthcare agencies. Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate may apply to write the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN). Upon successful completion of the NCLEX-PN, the graduate may apply for Illinois PN licensure. Completion of the Practical Nursing program does not guarantee Practical Nursing licensure.
