The Associate Degree Nursing Program at Laredo Community College (LCC) is a two year program leading to an Associate in Applied Science degree. The program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) and by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas. Upon completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
The Vocational Nursing (VN) Program is a clinically intensive one-year certificate program that offers classroom instruction and related clinical practice in four basic areas of nursing: fundamentals, medical/surgical, maternity/pediatric, and psychiatric. Supporting courses and program content include basic human anatomy and physiology, mathematics, pharmacology, nutrition, life cycle/growth and development, vocational adjustments, legal and ethical aspects of nursing practice, and nursing skills. At the completion of the program, the graduate will be eligible to write the National Council Licensure Exam for Practical Nurses (NLCEX-PN) to be licensed to practice in Texas.
