The School of Nursing of the Los Angeles County college of Nursing and Allied Health (formerly the Los Angeles County Medical Center School of Nursing) is a two-year hospital based Associate Degree Nursing program. Classes begin in the Spring and Fall. Graduates are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become registered nurses.
The College is located on the premises of the Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center and utilizes its wide range of clinical facilities. Clinical experiences are also offered at other Los Angeles County facilities including Olive View-UCLA, Harbor-UCLA, and Rancho Los Amigos Medical Centers.
As a part of the existing accredited program, the Los Angeles County College of nursing and Allied Health offers a clinical site at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center in Sylmar. This state-of-the-art teaching facility provides a broad range of medical, maternal-child, mental health and emergency services to the community.
Nursing students study and receive clinical experience in selected areas such as Medical, Surgical, Pediatric, Obstetrical, and Psychiatric nursing.
The nursing faculty is directly responsible for teaching and for supervising the clinical experience.
The Los Angeles County College of Nursing and Allied Health is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, 10 Commercial Blvd., Suite 204, Novato, CA 94949, (415) 506-0234, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education.
