Los Angeles Pierce College offers an Associate in Arts Degree Nursing Program. The Registered Nurse Program is accredited by the Board of Registered Nursing** and the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc.* Students must first be admitted into the nursing program before they may register for nursing courses. Students are admitted for both Fall and Spring Semesters.
The mission of the Department of Nursing at Los Angeles Pierce College is to educate students to become entry level practitioners of nursing. Completion of the prescribed curriculum qualifies the graduate to apply for licensure by examination as a registered nurse in the State of California.
Nursing students receive clinical experience concurrently with classroom instruction for approximately 25 to 30 hours per week. Local hospital and other health agencies provide the clinical facilities where students administer direct nursing care to patients under the supervision of nursing faculty.
