In designing the 33-credit nurse educator track, the faculty's goal was to design a curriculum based on nursing theory, learning theory, and education and research principles to produce nurse educators who are effective in both the classroom and clinical areas. It was with this goal in mind that the program learning outcomes were designed based on the NLN's Core Competencies for Nurse Educators (2005). When designing the nurse administrator/leader track, we chose to follow the Nursing Administration: Scope and Standards of Practice (2009). The nurse administrator curriculum has an interdisciplinary focus with a foundation in nursing theory, leadership and management theory, organizational change theory, and organizational ethics with a strong emphasis on application of these principles in the two nursing administration courses. The Organizational Leadership Masters in Arts program offers four introductory courses. The content of these courses is foundational administration/leadership in multiple disciplines.
