Established in 1952 to assist the newly-opened Marymount Hospital (1949) maintains a staff of qualified nurses to care for the sick, the School of Practical Nursing was the first hospital-based Practical Nursing school in the Greater Cleveland area.
The 11-month program is divided into three modules:
Level 1: Includes Nursing I, with Theory; Laboratory experience; clinical experience; and anatomy and physiology.
Level II: Includes an overview of Personal and Vocational relationships; Human Growth and Development; Nursing II (Theory, Laboratory Experience, Clinical Experience); Nutrition.
Level III & IV: To provide total theory and Clinical Experience in Care of the Adult & Child, including Maternity Nursing; Laboratory experience and theory and clinical experience in Pharmacology.
Admission Requirements include:
-Completed application
-Non-refundable application fee/testing fee
-Two non-personal references
-Official copy of high school transcript and other applicable schools (English translations required)
-GED exam score (if applicable): 50/500 or better. Scores below 50/500, current 1-5 years college and GPA of 2.25 are required.
-TEAS Entrance Examination: Passing scores of approx. 70 in reading and 50 in math within one completed test
