The Traditional Day Nursing program accepts students for the fall semester each year. RN students are accepted each term; procedure for admission is available from the Nursing Office. Transfer students may apply at any time; admission is dependent upon compliance with admission requirements and available space in the courses needed by the student.
The Maryville Nursing program is approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. In addition to providing academic preparation for entry into professional nursing practice through licensure, the Maryville Nursing program also provides the student with the foundation for graduate study. The nursing curriculum prepares students to provide preventive, curative and rehabilitative professional nursing care to individuals of all ages, to families, and to the community. The curriculum meets the needs of beginning students and of students holding RN or LPN licensure.
The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program prepares advanced practice nurses for complex practice that will enable them to more fully meet the healthcare needs of the community. The program focuses on development of evidence-based practice, and research utilization for the improvement of clinical care delivery, patient outcomes, system management, and organizational leadership to inform health care policy. Graduates of the program are prepared to lead at the highest clinical levels.
