This unique program is the product of a partnership between University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC) and Missouri Southern State University (MSSU). Participating students will enroll in classes from both institutions in a fixed rotation. Students can choose to complete the degree either as a full-time or part-time student.
The accelerated BSN track is an intensive immersion option for students who have a previously earned baccalaureate degree, and desire to complete requirements to earn a BSN at MSSU, and be eligible to write the NCLEX-RN examination upon program completion. The length of the program is approximately 14 months, beginning at the start of the summer session, and ending one year later at the conclusion of the summer session. The program does not follow the MSSU academic calendar, due to the intensity of the program. The program is designed as a Friday evening, and weekend program. Deadline for application is January 31st of each year.
The student's previously earned bachelor's degree meets the general education core requirements.
