Missouri State University offers a BSN-Completion program which allows students who have completed a 2-year Associates of Science in Nursing (ASN) program and have their RN License to complete their BSN degree. Admission into the BSN-Completion program is not competitive; the Nursing Department is not limited in the number of students who can be admitted to the Completion program. Students who meet the requirements and submit a complete application packet are admitted to the BSN-Completion program.
Missouri State University offers a 4-year Generic BSN Nursing Program. The first two years students are considered Pre-Nursing and are taking their General Education and pre-requisite courses, and apply to the Generic BSN program in January of the year they are ready to begin the nursing program in the summer. Students admitted to the program begin in the summer when summer classes begin the first part of June. The Nursing Department admits 51 students once a year to the Generic BSN nursing program.
The Accelerated RN to MSN Program allows the exceptional Registered Nurse to achieve the baccalaureate and master's degrees in less time than it would take to complete either degree separately. If accepted to the accelerated option, students may earn graduate credit for up to 10 hours of 500-600 level courses and count these hours towards both degrees. This plan is designed for RN students who hold career goals which extend beyond the bachelor's degree and whose professional expertise and capabilities strongly indicate a potential for advanced study.
