This 1440 clock-hour program prepares graduates to pass the Board of Nursing NCLEX licensing exam and work as an LPN in a variety of health care settings. The program offers a day 44-week program offered in Bellefontaine and Urbana, and a satellite program at the Kenton North Campus. A 72-week dual enrollment PN to RN program is offered in partnership with Clark State Community College at the Marysville location.
Pre-requisite courses in anatomy and physiology and computer applications are required before the start of first quarter classes. Instruction includes concurrent clincial experiences at area health facilities for nursing principles, medical-surgical nursing, maternal/infant health, gerontology, pediatric nursing, IV therapy, and pharmacology. Additional coursework includes nutrition, microbiology, mental health and illness, and growth and development.
