The 12-month curriculum in Vocational Nursing leads to a Certificate of Completion and prepares graduates to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses. Successful completion of the examination will allow graduates to practice as a licensed vocational nurse in the State of Texas. The curriculum is approved by the Texas Board of Nursing and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
Admission to the Vocational Nursing Program is a separate procedure from admission to Navarro College. Applicants must first meet all admission criteria for Navarro College. After acceptance as a student by Navarro College, a student is then eligible to seek admission to the Vocational Nursing Program. Admission to the Vocational Nursing Program is based on a competitive basis. A new class is accepted for admission into the program each fall at each of the three campuses (Corsicana, Waxahachie, Mexia).
