Nurses require broader knowledge than ever before to plan and implement quality care in today’s complex health care system. If you are a Registered Nurse with an associate's degree nursing, our B.S. Program will increase your general knowledge in the physical and social sciences, while expanding your professional expertise in assessment, patient advocacy, and care management. This type of professional nursing education prepares you to initiate and plan change, opens doors to leadership positions, increased earning potential, and the opportunity to practice in a wider range of settings.
The College of Nursing's innovative (B.S/M.S.) Dual Degree Program enables students to obtain the bachelor's degree in Nursing and advance to a master's degree in Nursing that prepares them to be nurse practitioners, midwives, educators, informaticists, or nurse managers.
During your senior year or last semester in the B.S. Program, you may substitute your nursing elective credits with graduate credits, which meet requirements for the B.S. degree as well as allowing for credit reduction of your master's degree course work. Students must complete at least one graduate level course before completing their baccalaureate degree in order to maintain dual degree status.
