RN to BSN students are admitted to begin the nursing curriculum in the Fall or Spring semester. Students may complete the RN to BSN nursing major on a full-time or part-time basis. For planning purposes, the program may be completed in one calendar year for students who begin the program in the Fall. The Spring schedule does not include a full time study option. While a two-year, part-time completion of nursing courses is typical, students may proceed at a slower pace, if desired, to allow student to work towards a degree while meeting the demands of work and family responsibilities. Nursing 401 must be completed in the first semester of the RN-BSN curriculum. Nursing 403 must be completed in the final semester of the RN-BSN curriculum. The application process includes the completion of an application to the School of Nursing and a separate application for admission to Old Dominion University as a degree-seeking student.
