The LPN program offers an opportunity to join the nation's second largest health care group in one of the most demanding health occupations. LPN's provide patient care in a variety of health care settings. Coursework includes: medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, nursing skills for long-term care, medical/surgical nursing, medication administration, infection prevention and control, disease processes of the body system, patient communication and education, documentation/charting, medical ethics, and jurisprudence. Prior to graduation, students will complete a preceptorship under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional.
Training is available both day and evening. Anyone with a high school diploma or equivalency diploma may apply. Upon completion of the Practical Nursing program, graduates are eligible to sit for the required State Licensing Exam. A review for the National Council of Licensing Exams - Practical Nurse (NCLEX-PN) is included at the end of the program.
