Graduates of the ADN (RN) program are prepared to provide and manage client care within a variety of clinical settings including, but not limited to, hospitals, doctors offices, urgent care facilities, nursing homes and outpatient and inpatient care settings.
Learning takes place utilizing a multitude of diverse didactic techniques including on campus lecture, live video streaming, pod casting, Wimba and Blackboard learning tools, state of the art simulation laboratory technology and off site clinical experiences, all of which prepare our graduates to meet the needs of a diverse client population.
Minimum requirements for consideration:
-Attend or view online the Pre Admission Conferences and submit Data Report Form by Admission Deadline of March 1, 2012
-Current application for admission to Owensboro Community and Technical College
-Declare Nursing Pending as major
-Official transcripts mailed to OCTC office of the registrar
-ACT composite Score of ≥20
-ATI Academic Preparedness Category ≥Proficient on the TEAS Assessment
-Nursing GPA ≥2.75
-Completion of BIO 137, MAT 110 or MAT 150 (or higher), PSY 110 and meet the Computer Literacy requirement (CIS 100 recommended)
-A grade of "C" or higher is required in math and science courses
-Active status on Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry (Must be complete by first day of class)
-CPR Certified (Must be complete by first day of class)
