We're on a mission to prepare competent, novice professional nurses that are self-directed, critically thinking learners. Part of this mission is to contribute to the profession by promoting wholistic health, healing and excellence in nursing.
The purpose of the Associate Degree Nursing Program at Panola College is to provide high quality education to individuals in the community seeking a career as a registered nurse and to promote the transition of the Licensed Vocational Nurse into the role of the professional nurse. Upon completion of the course of study, the student is prepared to take the National Council Licensure examination (NCLEX-RN) for licensure as a registered nurse.
The mission of the Panola College Vocational Nursing Program is to prepare competent, vocational nurses that are knowledgeable, safe and demonstrate a positive and caring attitude. Graduates should be able to care for individual clients across the lifespan within a standard legal/ethical framework.
The Vocational Nursing Program is committed to the preparation of individuals who will assume the role of vocational nurse and collaborate with the registered professional nurse and other health care professionals in the delivery of quality health care. The Program is approved by the Texas Board of Nursing.
