LPN Program Details

The course will prepare the student to become an effective, competent and caring health care worker in the field of nursing as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. The course requires 1,598 hours of instruction consisting of 628 hours of Theory, conducted in the class­room and 970 hours of direct patient care (clinical training) conducted in an accredited and State approved Long-Term Care and Acute Care facilities (hospitals).

This program is offered in two different formats to fit your schedule:

Day Classes
Evening Classes

Both Day and Evening classes last approximately 14 months consisting of three terms of approximately 4 months each plus 6 weeks of OB and Pediatrics theory and clinical. There are scheduled breaks between terms and holidays are taken off as well. Weeks consist of 3 days of theory for a total of 12 hours per week. Clinical time consists of 18 hours each week consisting of two 8 hours days in the clinical setting plus 2 hours of preparatory time.

The Vocational Nursing Training Program that PRIME Career College is offering contains the core curricula approved by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) and is being taught by experienced, Licensed Nurses (R.N.s and L.V.N.s) who are certified and approved by the Department of Health Services and the Bureau of Post Secondary Education.

Upon successful completion of the course requirements, you will become qualified to take the State mandated test. If you pass that, you will become a Licensed Vocational Nurse and be able to take your place in the highly valued and important healthcare field.
