Career and technical education is an integral part of the total educational program that embraces those experiences which an individual needs to prepare for a useful occupation and to become a productive member of society.
The nursing faculty believes that practical nursing is an integral component of all nursing. It is a career in which the individual functions as an essential member of the health care team under the supervision of a physician and/or registered nurse. The licensed practical nurse assists in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care and patient education.
The nursing faculty believes that practical nurse education is a planned program of instruction through which the student is prepared for the beginning role in nursing. Emphasis is placed on individual responsibility for self discipline, self evaluation, and life learning.
The nursing faculty accepts the responsibility for teaching, supervising, mentoring and evaluating students in personal and career development.
