RN to BSN Program Details

A special curriculum is available for Registered Nurses (RNs) desiring to complete requirements for a baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing. The curriculum is designed to accommodate RNs who are employed and/or involved with family, community, and other responsibilities and offered via a web-enhanced format.

The RN to BSN track of the undergraduate program builds upon a core curriculum foundation in liberal arts, basic and applied sciences, and behavioral and social sciences. An applicant is one who has:

-Graduated from an associate degree or diploma program
-Passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX)
-Become registered or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia
-Been admitted to Radford University

The track may be completed as quickly as three semesters (fall-spring-summer), and part-time options are available. Most of the coursework is web-based. Our students visit the Radford campus approximately twice per semester for orientation, presentations, and group projects with the remainder of lectures, discussions, assignments, and tests online.

Graduates qualify to sit for the NCLEX-RN examination in the state of their choice after graduation.
