ADN Program Details
Reading Area Community College offers you a unique Associate Degree program in Nursing. Our graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN Exam. Upon successful completion of the exam they are licensed as registered Nurses. We have graduated over 1050 students who are employed as Registered Nurses throughout the county and the United States. Many have gone on to earn Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
You can complete our Nursing program on a part-or-full time basis. Courses are offered during both day and evening hours. The full services of Advisement, Counseling, and our Financial Aid Offices are available to all students. Our nursing program is designed for students of all ages and backgrounds. Licensed Practical Nurses are eligible for advanced placement.
Our Nursing program has the full approval of the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. It is also approved by the *National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
LPN Program Details
Practical Nursing is the practice of nursing under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), a licensed physician, or a licensed dentist wherever nursing takes place.
Practical Nursing is a 12-month, full-time day program that includes a caring faculty to assist with your educational needs. The College's program has reasonable tuition for education (48 credits) and offers clinical experiences and observations in local hospitals and nursing homes.
As a student in the Practical Nurse Program, you would have access to a variety of services available on the College's campus.
Upon graduation from the program, you will be:
-Eligible for licensure to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Our graduates have a high pass rate.
-Eligible to be hired at starting salaries ranging from $17 to $25 per hour.
-An excellent candidate for entry level positions in the health care field with opportunities for advancement.
-A candidate for articulation into the Associate Degree Registered Nurse Program (link to that page) and other institutions of higher learning.
