NLNAC and OBN accredited! RCC Nursing Program has had a 90% or above pass rate for the past five years. This past year we remodeled the Bill S. Cole Nursing/Allied Health Building which includes a simulation lab. At this time we thread theory and simulation together to help build understanding of the specific content being taught. Simulation has enhanced students understanding, built confidence prior to clinical as to what to do, say, and provide appropriate interventions to the patient.
RCC nursing program graduated its first class in 1981. The program is a two year nursing program with new classes beginning in the fall of every year.
Students graduate with an Associate in Applied Science Degree and, upon graduation, are eligible to take NCLEX exam to become a Registered Nurse.
RCC offers options for LPNs attending our nursing program. LPN's with one years experience are given credit for Fundamentals of Nursing. They are required to take Role Transition (3 hour credit) prior to coming into the second semester. LPNs can finish in one and half years if they have all of their general education courses completed.
Positive attributes for considering RCC Nursing Program include:
1) Small ratio of students per instructor
2) 90% or higher pass rate
3) Simulation Lab
4) 100% employment after graduation
