Every state in the nation, including New Mexico, has a shortage of nurses. As a nurse, you can touch a life in a way no one else can. The Santa Fe Community College nursing program is designed to get you to work immediately after graduation. In roughly three years, you can earn an associate's degree in nursing and then apply for licensure. The program is approved by the New Mexico State Board of Nursing and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
Graduates of SFCC's nursing program are eligible to become licensed as registered nurses (RNs) and are qualified to provide comprehensive health care to their clients. Students in the program learn the theory and practice of nursing in the classroom, the lab, and a variety of practice settings. They also explore the RN's role in assisting clients with healthcare needs. The program accepts first-year admissions, Paramedics, LPNs, re-entry and transfer students.
