LPN Program Details

Selection into a program is based upon a point system. Candidates earn points from three areas: an interview, an essay, and an ability to follow written/oral directions. Candidates must achieve a minimum percentage of the overall points in order to be considered as an alternate. Candidates achieving less than the required minimum overall points are ineligible for this program year.

Intensive classroom and clinical studies offered in cooperation with area medical facilities include anatomy/physiology, medical math, medical surgical, obstetrics, pediatrics, gerontology, cardiology, gastroenterology, pharmacology, neurology, nutrition. Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurse (NCLEX-PN). A physical exam that includes extensive lab work is required, at the student’s expense, after acceptance into the program. Proof of Hepatitis B immunization also required.
