ADN Program Details

Unlike many four-year nursing programs which require two years or more of coursework before clinical experience begins, St. Joseph’s puts students at the patient’s bedside within six weeks of starting the first semester. You’ll complete up to 180 hours of clinical practice each semester, rotating through several departments, including pediatrics, medical/surgical, oncology, geriatrics and psychiatry. Our curriculum includes courses in professional nursing practice, psychiatric nursing, adult medical/surgical nursing, obstetrics, pediatrics and pharmacology. Each of these courses complements the clinical rotations. In addition, students take 30 credits in liberal arts and science courses - such as general psychology, anatomy and physiology, and nursing ethics - through our affiliate, Le Moyne College. Our Advanced Placement Option recognizes the experience of admitted LPNs - those who qualify are exempt from taking three first-semester introductory nursing courses.
