Our BSN Pathway is available as 4-semester, upper division study (completion of junior and senior academic years) after completion of required prenursing college level prerequisite courses and freshman/sophomore general education courses. You may begin study at the University of Arizona for the prenursing portion and apply for admission to the BSN Pathway during your sophomore year or transfer in relevant prenursing credits from other schools. If you have a university degree but not in nursing, you also can complete the BSN Pathway as a second bachelor’s degree.
Our Master’s Entry to the Profession of Nursing (MEPN) Pathwayto earn a Master of Science (MS) in nursing can be completed in 15 months is available to you if you already have a bachelor's or higher degree but not in nursing and if you have completed the required prerequisite courses.
The DNP curriculum consists of a nursing major and a minor (in a complementary field). DNP students who have not completed a graduate statistics course within the past 5 years will be required to enroll in a graduate statistics course the first fall semester of the program. All students are expected to come to campus for a robust 5-day Resident Intensive Summer Experience (RISE) each year for the first three years of doctoral study. RISE attendance for part-time students may vary.
With a DNP you will be prepared to:
-generate and disseminate nursing practice knowledge to stimulate research and improve clinical outcomes;
-improve health outcomes through scientifically-based advanced practice within your chosen specialty;
-engage in and lead collaborative practice teams; and
-influence clinical practice transformation and policy initiatives.
