RN to BSN Program Details

If you are a registered nurse who plans to complete your bachelors degree in nursing (BSN), our program is designed for you. (There is no freshman entry). Its purpose is to provide licensed registered nurses with the opportunity to complete a BSN degree on a part-time basis in a supportive, caring atmosphere. Courses generally meet one evening per week in late afternoon or evening. Community-oriented clinical placements occur in the final two semesters and are designed to accommodate various working schedules.

The RN to BSN program was the first completion program in Connecticut. Our focus has consistently been oriented to the adult learner. Therefore, we are always looking for ways to facilitate advanced study for nurses that takes into account their unique needs as individuals and professionals as we strive to create a Community of Scholarly Caring.

As a transfer student from a diploma or an associate degree program in nursing, you enter the University of Hartford with 60 or more credits earned toward your BSN. However, we recognize that you bring much more than prior college credits to our program. Your clinical experience and that of your classmates is a vital component of our curriculum and valued by our nursing faculty. Our faculty encourage you to bring patient care issues to the classroom and classroom learning to the workplace.
