The degree offered is the Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

The School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill offers an undergraduate program of study designed to provide students with the knowledge, skill, and understanding necessary to function effectively in all areas of professional nursing. The curriculum leading to the bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree offers two options for study: 1) two years of upper-division courses in the School of Nursing which follow two years of lower-division courses in the General College (BSN Option) and an accelerated second degree option for students with a previous bachelor’s degree (ABSN Option).

Doctor of Nursing Practice Program Details

-We are one of the top Schools of Nursing with NIH research funding for the past 7 years. A diversity of faculty grants provide hands-on training opportunities for fellows.

-We are part of a cutting-edge research-intensive university. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing (SON) provides a wonderfully rich and diverse environment within which to conduct research.

-The SON is part of a strong health science division including public health, pharmacy, medicine, and dentistry which are all located on the main campus of the University.

-The University is home to 121 interdisciplinary research centers, institutes, and initiatives that bring faculty together across campus to collaborative research-focused areas.

-SON faculty, doctoral, and postdoctoral fellows are very active members of many of these centers.
