Viterbo's nursing program has a 100-year tradition of excellence, and today our CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) accredited BSN Completion program is designed specifically for registered nurses who want to earn their bachelor's degree quickly at an off-campus location. Classes meet one day a week in 7 week blocks.
Viterbo's commitment to nursing education and the nursing profession has been paramount in Wisconsin and the tri-state area since Viterbo began offering the program in 1967. Viterbo graduates more BSN degree nurses than any private college or university in Wisconsin. Nearly 3,500 nurses are Viterbo alumni, one-third of which are living and working within 50 miles of La Crosse. Today over 400 students aspiring to be nurses have chosen Viterbo to earn their degree. The highest academic standards, coupled with a holistic approach of compassion and caring, has generated a superior reputation for the program which is appropriately referred to as the "Viterbo Way." In an effort to address the national nursing shortage, Viterbo is taking the initiative to continually improve and enhance its nursing program and capacity to better serve the needs of the community with graduates to fill this critical role.
The Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) program is designed to prepare beginning generalist nurses who can provide professional nursing care in a variety of settings. Graduates are prepared to provide health promotion, health maintenance and health restoration to diverse individuals, families and communities.
