Registered Nurses interested in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program (RN to BSN) study at select sites throughout the state.
The AMS interactive television coverage is offered in Spokane, Tri-Cities, Walla Walla, Yakima and Vancouver.
The WSU Online/Distance program begins a hybrid format, fall 2011. Distance RNs will login to live or archived video streams of the AMS-Campus course; assignments will document attendance.
Both the campus and distance students will participate in discussions and assignments in ANGEL software.
RNs complete clinical courses with BSN mentors at sites close to home; College of Nursing faculty teach the courses.
Criteria for admission include:
-RN License or eligibility for licensure
-Junior standing (60 semester hours/90 quarter hours)
-Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher in college courses and in courses prerequisite to nursing
-Minimum course grade of 2.0 (C) in each course prerequisite to nursing
-National Background Clearance and Liability Insurance upon acceptance to the College of Nursing
The Accelerated RN to MN Program is for RNs completing their first bachelor’s degree in the RN to BSN Program. Begin study in the RN to BSN program. Upon completion of 12 credits in the RNB program, RN students meet with MN faculty advisors to learn more about the graduate program of interest and to select MN courses that may be considered for replacement of RNB courses, pending approval of the Assistant Dean for the RNB program. Students work with the RNB advisor to complete a plan of study including up to 6 MN credits if the student plans a thesis in the MN program, or as many as 9 MN credits if a thesis is not planned. Completion of MN credits during the RNB program does not guarantee acceptance in the MN program. A separate application to the WSU Graduate School and the MN program is required.
