The 12-month Vocational Nursing Program focuses on nursing outcomes and evidence-based practices. The curriculum is a combination of classroom study and hands-on clinical training in the field to gain real-world experience. The program prepares and qualifies you to take the National Council Licensing Examination for Vocational Nurses to obtain your licensure a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
-Utilize the nursing process in assessing, evaluating, planning and implementing nursing care.
-Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote and maintain health.
-Provide safe, effective, and individualized care for diverse patients.
-Uphold ethical and legal standards, including the safeguard of Patient Health Information (PHI).
Doctors and Registered Nurses (RNs) rely on LVNs to care for sick and injured patients, including the disabled, geriatric population, and infants. LVNs provide basic bedside care, assist with tests and procedures, and monitor and report on their patients’ progress. An LVN can work in a variety of healthcare settings, including: a nursing home, physician office, clinic, hospital, home healthcare, outpatient care center, or government agency.
