ADN Program Details

Nursing is an exciting career and one marked with many challenges. A registered nurse (RN) provides care, treatment, counseling, and health education to ill or injured people. They also provide education to promote health and prevent injury and illness. Nurses monitor the condition of patients, administer medications prescribed by physicians to patients, and communicate with physicians and other members of the health care team to care for patients. Nurses also direct and supervise other nursing support personnel.

The program is four semesters and one summer session in length. Enrollment is limited to a total of 80 – including both first and second year students. It provides individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to administer nursing care to patients in a variety of settings. Courses include content related to the nurse’s role as a provider of nursing care, as a manager of care, as a member of the discipline of nursing, and as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Graduates who successfully complete the program are eligible to apply to take the NCLEX – RN.
